A former 1948 school building was transformed into the Davidson Historic Town Hall & Community Center through a comprehensive renovation and expansion that preserved the character of one of the town’s landmark structures. The project revitalized approximately 32,200 SF of historic space, including the addition of a 4,200 SF, three-story annex that provides improved accessibility, an elevator, restroom facilities, and a welcoming new entry sequence.
Optima Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the project, supporting the adaptive reuse of the building, while integrating modern systems and amenities. The renovation carefully restored the historic auditorium, including original windows, seating, and lighting fixtures, while introducing updated infrastructure to enhance functionality and occupant comfort. Site improvements, including new parking, sidewalks, landscaping, and irrigation, completed the transformation of the property into a vibrant civic and community destination.
