Wake Tech Community College Hendrick Center for Automotive Excellence

Optima Engineering provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology engineering services for the new 100,000 SF Hendrick Center for Automotive Excellence at Wake Technical Community College’s North Campus. The facility includes classrooms, offices, automotive repair labs, and collision repair training spaces designed to support hands-on workforce development. Advanced building systems include campus-served heating and cooling, specialized welding and vehicle exhaust systems, energy-efficient LED lighting, and a web-based building automation system.

The project also incorporated robust technology, security, and telecommunications infrastructure to support modern learning environments and specialized automotive equipment. Purpose-built training labs, electric vehicle charging stations, and industry-focused instructional spaces provide students with real-world experience while preparing them for careers in the evolving automotive and collision repair industries.
